Unfortunately when dogs get wet they face ear infections caused by moisture trapped in the ear canal.
Signs that your dog is suffering from an ear infection include shaking of your dog’s head, pawing at the ears, drooping one ear, and a foul odor coming from the ear. Sometimes the outer part of the ear is red and inflamed and may be warm to the touch. A healthy ear has no odor and no buildup.
Tea tree oil products are a great way to dry the ear canal. To insure your dog’s health it is recommended that you use the mildest cleaner you can find. Be sure to check your dog’s ears on a regular basis to check for problems.
If symptoms don’t subside, it is important to take your dog to the veterinarian to have his ear’s checked out.
