Dog Grooming
Your dog walks into a room. Suddenly your nose perks up, but isn't
happy. It's that time again. Time to get the dog groomed.
Groomer? Do it yourself? No matter how your dog
bathes we have some tips.
The Groomer: Man's Second Best Friend
Find a great
dog groomer
It's hard to believe, but there are actually dog groomers who don't
even like dogs. Berry, Wanda, and I had the horrible experience of
finding one. I learned a lot from that.
- Always ask if your groomer owns a dog. If they don't, feel
free to ask why.
- Some groomers will groom a dog or two from a local animal
shelter for free or will donate their time at the shelter. It is safe
to say that any groomer who does this will treat your dog well.
- This is a tip you probably won't see anywhere else. Does
your groomer let your friendly dog roam free through the salon? If so,
is there a back exit. Robin, who never met a person, dog, or piece of
food she didn't like, decided to go out and explore when someone left
the back door open. A few minutes later they realized Robin was
missing. About the same time someone from the cafe down the street
brought in a very happy golden retriever who had feasted going table to
table looking very hopeful and hungry. Robin managed to find her way
down the alley, through a breezeway right to the food. Thank goodness
she is food obsessed.
